In the hope to assist with the constant local and national critical need for blood supplies we have partnered with Westminster Presbyterian Church and hold blood drives twice a year here at Queen of Peace. We also support the blood drives that happen at Westminster as well. To assist with this ministry, please call the parish office.
This ministry offers hospitality by providing lunch after funerals for grieving families and their friends to gather, share stories and continue the healing process. This is a simple yet profoundly appreciated way for us to reach out to others at a time when they are most in need of our support. If you would like to assist with this ministry by making a dessert or salad from time to time or help at the lunch please contact the Parish Office at 503-364-7202.

"Do you not know that you are the temple of God...if anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy that person; for the temple of God, which you are, is holy." I Corinthians 3:16-17
There are many risks to human life, including abortion, euthanasia, the death penalty, and war. Every human being has a right to dignity, daily food, clothing, education, and work. Every person also has a right to follow their religious conscience, and we as fellow human beings have a responsibility to each other to protect these rights and to care for all of God's creation. Queen of Peace parishioners support activities that promote the sanctity of human life.Providing shelter, meals, assistance and compassion to families without homes during their week’s stay at our parish. Family Promise is hosted here 3-4 times per year. Parishioners are able to minister to these members of our community in these ways:
A service organization that helps those in the community who are in need of food, clothing and financial aid for utilities and medications. Members also volunteer their time at St. Jude food bank and the St. Francis home for the homeless, both ministries of St. Vincent de Paul.

Bear One Another’s Burdens – In Galatians 6, Paul tells us to “carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” At Queen of Peace, our Stephen Ministers have been trained and organized to do just that. They provide one-to-one care, prayer, and support to those who are going through a difficult time such as…

The Table of Plenty is open Thursdays from 4:30-7:00pm in the modular north of the church.
The goal of this ministry is simply to feed the hungry. Anyone from the community is welcome to shop our shelves Thursdays from 4:30-7:00pm, once a month and receive a 3-5 day emergency supply of food. On average 55 different families shop with us each Thursday evening of the month. We have over 120 volunteers including Queen of Peace School children and members of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Individuals and families can help in many different ways with this ministry, for more information or to get involved, please contact the parish office.
The Table of Plenty is staffed during operation hours, in addition to picking up and delivering food from Marion-Polk Food Share and other sites. Food donations are also collected not only from Queen of Peace parishioners, but also from our neighboring churches and other organizations. It has truly been a community effort to provide needed food for our neighbors.
You can bring food donations to any Mass on the weekend. Watch the bulletin for urgent needs. Your donations help support our very own neighbors!
Oregon has the highest number of people in the US who are food insecure – not knowing where their next meal is coming from. According to Marion-Polk Food Share statistics, Last year over 24,000 Salem/Keizer residents sought help with food – over 45 percent were children. 40 percent of the need is right here in South Salem.
